National poet of Pakistan

  Public holiday on 9th November: 

9th November is absorbed as a public holiday in pakistan to commemorate the birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal who was a great poet, prominent philosopher and politician who is widely regarded as one of the most important figure in Urdu literature and the ideological founder of Pakistan. This day is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country which highlights the contribution of Iqbal to the cultural and political landscape of Pakistan . 

Iqbal ‘s poetry,which often revolves around the themes of self discovery ,nationalism and spiritual awareness has inspired generations of Pakistanis .
